Repetitive Application of Pressure on Deburring Machine Caused Torn Rotator Cuff and Need for Surgery

Award: 19(b) petition, causation found and TTD + Meds + R rotator cuff shoulder surgery awarded

Accident:  For three weeks P worked 8 hour shifts polishing metal parts by pushing them into the spinning part of a deburring machine. Polished an estimated 1,700 pieces per day. P had to apply pressure to the parts while polishing them.  Noticed pain in R arm and notified employer.

Injury:  R rotator cuff tendonitis with a partial rotator cuff tear and paraspinal muscle spasms
